That's right. There's an epidemic in Indianapolis. One person has already died, and everyone's washing their hands until they're raw, using enough Purel to drown a ten-year-old child, and avoiding contact at all costs. And you know what?
It's annoying me to death!
If I hear MRSA one more time, I'll sceam! Just wash your hands and follow what doctors tell you to avoid spreading the flu, a cold, etc., and you'll be fine. Duh!
In case of infection, don't come to Indianapolis. You might as well have the plague the way you'll be treated.
...... Yeah, I'm annoyed, but done. Later!

Gracious me. A friend of mine is in that state, but not that city. Why on earth would people wash until it hurt?

Because people are paranoid idiots. My grandpa had that before he died (of something completely different), no one here got it despite having to help him do everything. It seems to me, that having open wounds (ie. washing your hands raw to the point of having some skin come off or loose) would be more of a risk than anything.

What really annoys me is that they're about ready to close my school because of MRSA. One more case and we get to spend an extra two weeks at school during summer. They're going to have to "clean" the school at that time it's closed. But come on, if someone's going to infect someone else with their defected MRSA it's not like cleaning the school is going to solve all the problems or stop all potential cases from happening. I mean really, it's not like they close the school for the flu or horrendous bugs, and while yes, MRSA deadly if it's not treated, it's not exactly the Bubonic Plague that's going on here.

The key words here are "if not treated". If somebody gets it, they should get treatment and be done with it.

Yay! I just got back from an anime convention, and they were still making references to it. "We had the idea to spell 'Staff Lounge' S-T-A-P-H and say we had a medical theme, but that didn't fly so well."
