Rodney groaned as the building around him finally stopped it's grating collapse. There was barely enough room around him to move, but he managed to get into a half-crouched half-standing position. It was uncomfortable, but it allowed him to reach the flashlight in his tac-vest.
"Oh, this is just great! Come on he said, I know where Teyla is, he said. Yeah, well, I don't see Teyla!" He ended his rant with a shout. Maybe someone would hear him.
He listened for a moment, but they only sound he could make out was the occasional plink of a pebble striking metal.
Slowly Rodney panned the flashlight around the floor looking for something he could use to get himself out. Instead he round the still form of Major Evan Lorne.

The sound of a shout startled the wraith back to conciousness. Pebbles and rocks scattered to the floor as he sat up with a hiss of pain. He heaved a large piece of debris off his bruised legs and shakily regained his feet. He was not pleased with what he found. All the drones he'd brought with him to the lab had been buried when the building collapsed. Trapped under rocks and slabs of concrete, it was unlikely any of them had survived. The wraith fished one stunner out of the rubble and staggered from the room with a sneer, limping heavily.

Rodney was relieved that the major didn't appear to too injured. Well, if you didn't include unconscious and probably brain damaged to be 'too injured'. Then again, what did Rodney know about Voodoo medicine?
He straightened out the major as best we could and wadded his coat to place under Lorne's head. Beyond Rodney's laboured breathing the room was deathly silent. It wasn't a cheery thought.
"Well," he sighed to himself, "if anyone out there was able to come to our rescue they would have by now. And I don't think you," he nudged Lorne's hip with his foot, "can just wait around for Atlantis to contact us. So, yet again, it's up to me and my incredible brain to save the day."
He stomped over to the mess of rubble that used to be the door. He glared over at the unconscious man. "This is more your thing than mine, Major." He paused, almost waiting for an answer. With a sigh he began to shift the rubble away from the door.

The wraith followed the sound of shifting rubble and found himself in front of a collapsed door. He bought his stunner to the ready. Who knew what was on the other side? This was Michaels lab after all. It oculd be one of his experiments. Some of the rubble shifted, creating a small space that looked into the room. Through the space the wraith caught a glimpse of a human man.

((So, are you one of Michael's? Or were you invading his lab like us? You did not specify))
Rodney let out a very unmanly shriek and leaped backwards. Thankfully the only one who could hear him was the wraith on the other side of the door.
Then again, it was a wraith on the other side of the door!
Oh, this was so not good.
((too tired to think up more.))

The wraith gave a toothy smirk when it heard the man scream. It seemed as though he'd found an easy meal. The building began to shake again, dropping more rubble from above. The wraith managed to dodge most of it, but got clipped in the shoulder. He dropped the stunner and gripped his shoulder. On one hand he could likely kill the man quickly. On the other he was lost and trapped in this crumbled building, left alone to face Michaels experiments. He didn't lke either of the options ahead of him, but going on alone seemed foolhardy. "Do you know the way out of this building?" the Wraith called.

Rodney crouched low to avoid the falling rubble. When the tremor was over he scrambled to the major's side. Upon seeing that the major was alright (or as alright as the situation allowed) he sat down, dizzy with relief. Or low blood sugar.
The creature on the other side of the door spoke suddenly, scaring Rodney and reminding him why panicking would not be a wise idea.
"Do you know the way out of this building?" it asked.
"Of course I know the way out! Hello, genius. We don't wander into unknown buildings without getting the lay of the land first." Well, that was if he could find the Ancient scanner. Otherwise he was up the creek without a paddle, so to speak. The wraith, however, did not need to know that.
The way things stood now, the Wraith wouldn't be able to get into the room with the door blocked. It might be able to shift enough debris away, but that could take hours. Hours Rodney didn't think he had, and was almost positive the Major didn't.
He sat down again and took deep breaths, trying to control his imminent panic attack. Suddenly, the thought came to him to try his radio. How could he have forgotten that?
//Colonel Sheppard, come in! Ronon, can you hear me? Sheppard!\\ No matter what frequency he used all he got was static.
((There, now stop bugging me, lol. I still have to figure out what to do with the major. I think I backed myself into a bit of a corner, oops. XD))

The wraith did not appreciate the humans attitude. However, it apparently knew a way out. THe Wraith had no clue how many floors down it had fallen when the building collapsed; it would take what help it could get. "How do you propose to protect yourself from the experiments?" the Wraith asked. "I can tell that you are no soldier." The derision in his voice shone through. "If you show me the way out," he continued, "I will make sure you survive." He paused a moment. "Either we work together, or we both remain stuck down here." ((I could eat him. Just leave him passed out and we'll deal with as we go.))

((No, you can't eat a recurring character! Maybe on of the guest star types, but not a reccuring! And I like Lorne, he's amoosing. How did I know you were going to say that, anyway? XD))
"Oh, right, because I am going to believe what a wraith tells me. Yeah, sorry, not!"
He glanced over at the Major again. Rodney didn't know a lot about injuries, but a head wound was definitely serious. Was it his imagination, or was Lorne more pale than he had been a moment ago.
Rodney snorted in mirthless amusement. Maybe the Major had heard the wraith's proposition.
"I've got food, weapons, and a defensible position, why should I leave on your word? More of my people are here, they'll come and find me as soon as they can. And if they are all incapacitated," he hesitated to say dead, "then Atlantis will send a rescue within an hour or so."
((hah! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. Wraith! Rodney can be stubborn. And cynical/untrusting. I hope you didn't think it would be easy to talk him out! Also, we've established that you can't see much through the blocked doorway, so don't try using the 'injured teammate' card. XD))

((Wasn't going to use the injured team mate card. Wraithy doesn't know he's there. Plus, I didn't expect it to be THAT easy. Where'd the fun be? By the way...make me a cool avatar too!!! I'd love you forever))
"And will your rescuers arrive before I can clear out this doorway or the experiments find you?" the wraith asked. "It is possible, I admit." He paused to let his words sink in. "But I have no food and your weapons will not kill me so easily. Cooperate or die." He shifted a large chunk of rubble out of the way to emphasize his point. "If I must find my own way out I would rather do it in good health." The wraith began shifting rubble in earnest.

((Actually, this one is for you. Inspired by Mint, lol. I'm trying to make one about Kavanaugh, if I can find a picture of him. It's going to say: It's not character bashing if it's canon.))
Rodney considered his options. It was one thing to trust a wraith when the wraith was at your mercy. It was another thing when it could just be looking for a tasty meal. ((If the wraith could hear his thoughts he would probably be thinking 'don't flatter yourself' lol))
Then again, the Major was down for the count, and even if he did wake up, he would be useless.
"How do I know you won't just eat me? Besides, I've got pretty much endless munitions! I can hold you away from the door."
Another tremor shook the room.

(( You are the coolest of cool and I officially love you forever! And for the record, Kavanaugh = icky. You should make a whole Kavanaugh Bashing avatar series.)) There was silence from the other room for a moment after the Wraith finished speaking. Then the human spoke. "How do I know you won't just eat me? Besides, I've got pretty much endless munitions! I can hold you away from the door." THe floor began to tremble lightly. "You do not know," the wraith answered. Then he stepped forward so his stunner was visible to the human. "And you are not the only one who is armed." He was cut off from saying more as the whole buildin began to shake. THe wraith let out an alarmed shout as half the corridor collapsed. He turned back to the room as the shaking subsided. SOme of the rubble had shifted, though the hole was barely a scant inch wider. "You are running out of options," he told the human. "And I am running out of patience." ((Oh, and by the way, I finally got my story started. XD))
