Lee O'Neill stepped out of the women's showers, toweling her hair dry. Clad in tank top, cargo pants, and bare feet, she made her way through the halls of the SGC in the living quarters. As she did, she thought Okay. What do to today? Shooting range? Nah. Bug Dad? Maybe. Heck, I'll go read about WWII. What else was there for a 17-year-old with a pension for martial arts do to?
Lee tossed her toiletries and towel into her room and walked toward Daniel's study or whatever it was called, still in socked feet. She was nearly to the elevator when she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes. I'm so sorry, May.... she thought, sniffling. It's my fault you're gone. When Lee O'Neill got like this, she was unpredictable.

Elsewhere on base:[/u]
General George Hammond sighed as he gazed down at the stack of mission reports. He normally would only be slightly exasperated at having to wade through all of the mission reports, but as it stood, George had been on duty for nearly two months straight, a situation on a newly discovered planet interrupting his get-away just as he was about to step into the elevator to the surface. He had not seen or spoken with his granddaughters in well over a month, and to top it all off, more pressure was being put on he and his teams to bring back technology that could be used as weapons against the Gao'uld.
He was just about to call it quits for the day, when Walter knocked on his door. He looked up and blinked in surprise. He knew that there were no teams due back that day, and no visitors were due, so he had no idea why the Sergeant would be wanting his attention.
"Sergeant, what can I do for you?"
"Sir, we've received word from one of our off world teams. I think you had better come hear this for yourself...."
Confused, George got to his feet and followed the Sergeant down to the Control Room. Through one of the monitors, he could see Major Gorson, the leader of SG-12. The Major looked a bit ragged around the edges, and was obviously agitated as he gazed back at the General through the lens on the Mount. Now, concerned, George leaned over and spoke into the microphone.
"Major, this is General Hammond. May I ask what's happened?"
"Sir," The Major spoke urgently and slightly out of breath. "This planet is not deserted! There is a large Goa'uld stronghold located approximately 12 klicks north of the gate. I repeat: The planet is controlled by the Goa'uld!"
The General's surprise was almost palatable as he registered the implications of what the Major just said. The Tok'ra had assured them that the planet was deserted, that it had been for several centuries. So either the Tok'ra honestly didn't know, or there was a spy among them. With a weary sigh, George leaned over and addressed the Major.
"Major, get you and your men out of there. Return to base immediately."
"Will do, Sir."
With that, the transmission was cut off, and George was left staring at a blank screen. This was looking to be a very bad situation. If one of the Tok'ra was a spy or had been compromised, then it would spell disaster if he or she was not identified and neutralized quickly. But that would have to wait, as they did not know the address through which to contact them. In the mean time, he turned and addressed Walter.
"Sergeant, I want you to get SG-1 down here immediately. Have them meet me in the Briefing Room."
With that, George turned and made his way to his office.
The Sergeant's voice echoed through the base via the intercom.
"SG-1, report to the Briefing Room! SG-1, report to the Briefing Room immediately!"[/i]

Jack O'Neill groaned as he pulled himself out of bed and searched for his clothes. "For cryin' out loud," he muttered, "aren't we supposed to be off for a while?" Pants, socks, and shoes later, Jack left his quarters with shirt in hand and headed for the elevator, pausing only to slam the side of his fist into Teal'c's door. "Teal'c, let's go!"
Lee shook herself from her mental breakdown and was the first SG-1 member (at least honorary until she was assigned a team) onto an elevator, sans her shoes, which hung from her hand. She cracked her knuckles quickly and figdeted until the doors opened, when she darted out and up to the Debriefing Room, saying a quick "Good Morning, Sergeant," to Walter. In the Debriefing room, Lee saluted Hammond and sat down in one of the chairs to put on her shoes.
Daniel had been studying his Ancient texts, which was how he could usually be found. The announcement brought Daniel from his absorbtion of the papers and out of his room. He walked quickly past Jack and onto the elevator, shifting from left foot to right foot as he ascended. On the correct floor, he walked into the Control Room and up the stairs to the Debriefing Room, ruffling Lee's hair as he passed her. "Uh, wh-what's going on?" Daniel asked, still trying to break from his thoughts.

Teal'c: [/u][/i]
Teal'c breathed in slowly and released it, eyes closed, shoulders relaxed. He slowly drew in another breath and relaxed even more in his spot sitting on the floor in his quarters. The Tau'ri were a truly curious race. He could not understand how they could get through the day without some form of Kel'no'Reem to help order their thoughts and relax. He believed that O'Neill especially would benefit from it, however the Tau'ri in question simply would not listen when Teal'c stated as such.
He was about to enter a deeper state of Kel'no'Reem when the intercom crackled to life, and a voice echoed through the base, informing SG-1 to report to the Briefing Room. If Teal'c were any less disciplined, he would have sighed in irritation. But as it was, he merely lifted an eye brow and got to his feet. He went around the room, snuffing out the candles, just as the last one was put out, a loud knock on the door informed him that O'Neill had also heard the summons.
He made his way out of his rooms and to the lift and waited patiently for it to descend to the correct level. As he exited the lift, he could see the other members of SG-1 just entering the Briefing Room. Upon entering, he gave a brief, respectful nod to General Hammond, and took his seat next to Daniel Jackson.

George stood and returned Captain Lee's salute as she came in, and greeted the rest of SG-1 as they trickled in. As Major Carter was currently off world investigating a strange piece of technology, the General had temporarily assigned Captain Lee O'Neill to fill the Major's place. As much as he disliked having someone so young involved in something so dangerous as what SG-1 usually got involved in, she had proved herself more than capable of handling such things.
Once Teal'c was seated, George also took his seat and got down to business.
"SG-1, it has been discovered that the planet designated PV342 is not deserted, as the Tok'ra had led us to believe. Major Gorson and his team have discovered that the planet is controlled by the Goa'uld."
He gave a moment for the news to sink in, and continued.
"Now, normally I would wait until we were able to get a hold of the Tok'ra, but as you know, we do not have their current address, nor do we know of any operatives in the area. Colonel O'Neill, I want you and your team to go investigate. This is a recon mission only, do not engage the enemy unless it is unavoidable.
"You will have 48 hours to evaluate the situation, after which you will return to base. I want an update every 12 hours. You leave immediately."
"Now, are there any questions?"

Lee shook her head, aware of the risks. Her jaw clenched at the chance to meet a Gou'ald for the first time since her sister's death. "No, sir," she replied. Jack nodded to his daughter's comment, also lacking questions. Daniel's response was the same.

General Hammond:[/u][/i]
With the other three's lack of questions, George turned his gaze to Teal'c. When the Jaffa simply raised his eyebrow and gazed at the General, George nodded and closed the meeting.
"Very well, you are dismissed. You depart in one hour."
He got to his feet and made his way to his office.

After General Hammond left, Teal'c got to his feet and made his way out, intent upon completing his Kel'no'Reem before departure.

Lee, her father, and Daniel all trooped down to the armory to gather their equipment. Daniel noticed that his niece's hands were shaking as she took down an MP 5 and a zat. He placed his own hand on her arm. "Are you all right, Lee?" he asked. She nodded. "Fine," she replied, tying her brown hair into a ponytail.

Teal'c:[/i][/u]
Having finished his Kel'no'Reem with plenty of time to spare, Teal'c moved through the base to join his friends in the armory. It never ceased to amaze him how slow the Taur'i were at getting ready for combat. An activity that only took a Jaffa ten minutes, took his human friends nearly one half of an hour. It was quite irksome.
Getting uncommonly impatient, Teal'c left the others to continue getting ready, and made his way to the Control Room. He gave a brief nod to the Sergeant, and stood near the window, gazing out onto the Gate Room, arms at ease behind his back. He was anxious to begin this mission, but he was disciplined enough not to show it. He would wait for his friends. Slow in preparation as they may be.

Daniel tripped into the Gate Room, readjusting his glasses. It never took him too long since he didn't carry as many arms as Jack and Lee; he was just observing his niece's movements and her attitude. As he mulled over the experience on the ramp, it struck him: Lee had been thinking about her sister before they were summoned to the Debriefing Room. Daniel knew Lee well enough by now to know that -- like Jack -- she had a way of burying her pain just far enough below the surface the pass for normal.

Jack was next into the Gate Room and gave Daniel a light punch on the shoulder. "C'mon, where's your sense of adventure? Get up and let's go!"
Lee touched Teal'c arm lightly. "We're ready to leave, Teal'c," she told him.

Teal'c:[/u][/i]
Teal'c was brought out of his thoughts as he felt a touch on his arm. He turned and found himself gazing at Lee O'Neill, O'Neill's daughter from an alternate time line. He was not sure he entirely trusted her, however, she seemed sincere enough, and O'Neill himself seemed to accept her, so Teal'c accepted her as he would any other member of SG-1. He inclinded his head briefly to her to show that he had heard, and donned his gear that had previously been sitting near his feet.
He looked up from doing up the snaps on his vest, when General Hammond entered the Control Room and gave the order to start the dialing sequence.
General Hammond turned and faced Teal'c and the others.
"Now, I need not tell you to be careful. It is unknown at this point whether or not the Tok'ra know about the Goa'uld, or if the Goa'uld simply encountered the planet by chance. You have your orders. Good luck."
Teal'c gave a brief bow and turned to exit the Control Room, making his way below to the stargate.

Lee nodded her understanding, saluted Hammond, and followed Teal'c. Her knuckles were white on the strap of her MP5 as she paused on the mesh stairs, a moment of shivers overwhelming her. It was residual nerve damage from the wound she'd sustained before coming to her present universe. She shook her head and went down to the rest of her team.
Jack nodded his acknowledgement of Lee's return and looked up at the dialing Stargate. "I say shoot first, ask questions later. The Goa'uld aren't going to wait civilly while we ask who the Hell they are over tea."
"Dad," Lee groaned.

Daniel loked at Jack. "Uh, Jack, are you sure... Oh, never mind." There was just no talking sense into an anti-Goa'uld mind-set like Jack O'Neill's.

Teal'c:[/u]
Sergeant Walter's voice echoed through the room as the chevrons locked into place. Finally when the last chevron locked, and the event horizon appeared, General Hammond's voice crackled over the intercom.
"SG-1, you have a go."[/i]
Teal'c flexed his fingers around his customary staff weapon and stepped forword, ignoring O'Neill's comment. He trusted both General Hammond and O'Neill, but in this case, he knew that General Hammond's approach was the best, given the unknown nature of the situation.
He stepped forward up the ramp and stepped into the wormhole. He smoothly stepped out the other side almost instantly, shaking off the coldness that he had now become quite accustomed to. He looked around as he waited for the others to join him.
The planet he found himself on appeared to be a desert waste, yellow sand drifting lazily in a soft breeze. He heaved a quiet sigh. A desert was the last place any Jaffa wanted to be in a fight. The footing was too unsure, and it was too easy to be tracked. He shrugged his annoyance off and stood up straight, waiting for the others to come through the wormhole.

((I'll pause here so you and May can get farther in your RP before SG-1 makes contact.))
Lee and her father emerged one after the other, and Lee looked around. There were uniform indentations in the sands near the gate, and she hurried ahead to check them out.
"Lee, get back here!" Jack called after her, though he was ignored. "I like my smelly socks. kid," he muttered.
